New West Playwrights, an EST/LA program committed to strengthening the work of young playwrights and providing them with a support system of professional artists, is now accepting applications for our 2025 class of playwrights under the age of 30. Membership includes weekly meetings, staged readings of plays in development, and a working connection with one of Los Angeles’ premiere theaters of new work. New West members and alumni have signed with agents, received professional productions around the country, and gone on to write for companies like HBO and Marvel Studios. 

 

Requirements:

• Your 30th birthday must occur during or after the year 2025

• You must live in the greater Los Angeles area
