July 12, 2020:
Screening of “Black Vietnam: Into the Light”
A documentary by Ann C. James sharing the stories of VFW 8195 Stone of Hope veterans. This screening includes an introduction and post-show discussion with a distinguished panel including Ms. James. All donations went to VFW 8195.
October 2020:
Benefit Reading of “Watching O. J.” by David McMillan
A reading by the original cast of this award-winning production. This event is a fundraiser for Campaign Zero, an organization that works to identify effective solutions to end police violence nationwide.
November 2020:
“The Ajax Project” in association with The Warrior Bards Program at USC’s Classics Department
An interactive exploration of this Greek tragedy performed and discussed by U. S. service veterans. This is a new kind of theatre performance, re-imagined for the age of coronavirus, and geared toward using the arts as part of a process of healing.
December 2020:
“EST/LA’s A Very COVID Christmas” fundraising video
A video featuring sketches and other content featuring our ensemble meant as a holiday celebration and fundraising effort.
March 2021:
EST/LA’s Digital Shorts Festival
A festival of short plays adapted to film scripts and recorded completely remotely via OBS. This festival included 9 short plays and was presented in 3 separate programs over a period of 4 weeks.
April 2021:
Springfest
Our annual festival of first-time play readings for the public. Normally this is Winterfest but due to scheduling was pushed to spring. A total of 23 digital presentations were broadcast to the public.
