L.A. Fest is Ensemble Studio Theatre/LA’s annual festival that celebrates the wonderfully diverse voices and communities of Los Angeles. In previous years we have partnered with organizations such as the Q Youth Foundation, Returning Soldiers Speak, and the Sp¡t Spoken Word Workshop in an effort to open up EST/LA’s doors and introduce our audience to striking new work.
This year’s festival takes place from March 13th until March 22nd and we’re excited to be working with our most varied coalition yet. We’ll be collaborating and showcasing work by Celebration Theatre, Playwrights Arena, Sp¡t Spoken Word Workshop, The Warrior Bards, and for the first time ever we’ll screening films including a documentary by Ann James, Black Vietnam: Into The Light, and 2 short indie films by Timur Bootzin. Please click here for the full calendar of events.
L.A. Fest 2020 will be a riveting multi-disciplinary dive into the vast experiences of Los Angeles and we hope to have you with us. We could use your help to fund this year’s projects.
If you appreciate L.A. Fest’s mission and want to support its growth, we humbly ask you donate whatever you can to help this year’s production come to life. Your donation will go towards providing actors, directors, and writers with stipends for their work because EST/LA is committed to paying artists as much as we can. Furthermore, your contribution will assist with paying for other related costs such as hiring a professional stage manager, printing needs, marketing, and additional expenses.
L.A. Fest is ultimately about community, and we couldn’t put on festivals like this without support from those who make up our community. Please consider donating to LA Fest 2020, and please join us in March at EST/LA for an amazing line-up of readings and films that will break the mold and expand your world.
